Coconut Oil for Skin

Coconut Oil

A few years ago, I thought it would be smart to switch from my Neutrogena moisturizer to something organic. One word: EXPENSIVE—$25 for a shot glass expensive. My sister Sarah suggested I try organic coconut oil. So, I headed to Whole Foods and purchased a 14 oz jar for $7. Huffington Post Style (see below) recommends extra virgin coconut oil that has not been hydrogenated, bleached, refined or deodorized. I’d add organic to that list. In the winter it’s solid; in the summer it’s liquid. Either way it’s great for your skin—even your face. It goes on greasy, but soaks into your skin very quickly. And, bonus—you smell like a Piña Colada! That little jar lasted 14 months! Super thrifty! This swap probably saves me $60 a year. Free organic coconut oil available here:
